1/ We are only looking for regular chatters who will contribute to the boards. Therefore all accounts must be kept active to stop them being deleted. Obviously this is a different matter if your on holiday etc, but people who log in and post once every few months will be deleted.

2/ New members will only be activated if they make an effort to fill in their profile upon joining. We usually find that people who join without filling anything in, are the ones who never bother joining in!

3/ Penpal ads may be placed, but only once you reach 50 posts. This is to stop people joining JUST to make penpals - it is a forum after all, which is designed for posting. Also, people who reach 50 posts, place an ad, then never post again will be deleted.

4/ Addresses must never be given on a post as this is an 'open' forum and can be viewed by non-members. Addresses can be given via PM at your own risk. This includes e-mail addresses.

5/ Never use someone's surname. If you choose to post your own, thats your decision. Ie, if you wanted to talk about me then say Debbie E, Aberdeen. This is to stop people's names being used who aren't on the site.

6/ You may advertise items for sale but they must be penpal/stationery related.

7/ Everyone has a right to an opinion - particularly in the Discussions forum. You may share your own but never belittle someone else's opinion. Please think about your comments before hitting that 'submit' button. Take a second to imagine how it may make others feel. Any comments which could be seen as insulting or racial will result in a ban - without warning.

8/ All members must be respected. This forum is open to members all over the world (and very proud of it) and its very important that each and every member feels important - because you are!

9/ Admin/Mods (debs, caroline, nicola and bevi) have the authority to edit/delete/lock any threads as they see fit. This includes swearing, penpals ad's which shouldn't be there, and anything which is seen an inappropriate. Any arguments because of this will result in members being banned.

10/ & most important, you gotta have fun!

Sorry for all the rules, but cause we've gotten quite big now, we kinda need them. Nothing really needs to change, but apparently i need to have this here to cover myself!
